" saying that last night had been a long night for lainey was an understatement. she had practically cried herself to sleep. first zane didnt show up when he was supposed to, he didnt even call to tell her he wouldnt be coming which really hurt her. so she called him and left a terribly bitchy and long voicemail on his phone. which she would eventually regret but at the time she didnt care if she was being rude or not giving him a chance to explain before she yelled at him. he had promise that he spend the night with her, he would eat supper with her family, they would exchange christmas presents and then they would cuddle. she even said he could touch her boobs. not only was he supposed to do all that, but zane was supposed to be there to make her night better, to distract her from the fact that her dad was trying to replace her mom with some new whore that he was bringing home for supper, he would keep her from making rude comments and from getting to mad at her dad. without zane there the night just went downhill. the night didnt get bad right away, but it didnt take that long for it to go bad. lainey had even tried to be civil with the lady that her dad brought home, but she just couldnt do it. she couldnt handle seeing her dad sitting their telling this women how much he loved her and then her dad asked lola, the women he was dating, if she would want to move in with them and that was the last straw. she started yelling at her dad. he never asked her how she felt about lola, he never asked about her feelings and it hurt her. so she yelled and screamed at them until her dad grabbed her and took her into the other room. he hit her square in the face, it was the first time he'd hit her when he wasnt wasted, and told her to go to her room, and thats exactly what she did.

" the events ran threw her mind as she layed in her bed and looked at the cieling. she knew she couldnt lay in her bed any longer or she would waste her whole day away. so when she finally pulled herself out of bed she went to find her phone. it was sitting on her dresser and when she looked up into the mirror that was above her dresser she noticed the bruise that had appeared on her face. she had no idea how she was going to hide that, but she decided she would figure it out later. first she needed to listen to the voicemail that had been left on her phone from late the night before. "miss lainey, this is iliana. mr. ashford died today and zane is talking if very hard. when you get this come over, please." was the voicemail that had been left on her phone. zanes dad had died. thats why he didnt come over for supper the night before, it all made sense now. she couldnt believe how big of a bitch she had been when she called him. now she had to go over to his house and make sure he was okay. she quickly changed out of her pjs and pulled her hair into a ponytail and left the house. she had forgotten about the bruise on her face she just wanted to get to zanes place. once she got there she walked inside without even knocking. the house was trashed. things were broken on the floor, and stuff was laying everywhere. she would clean it up later, but now she had to go find zane. she walked up the steps, avoiding the things that had been dropped and broken on them, and walked into his room that was almost more trashed then everywhere else. there was also alot of empty bottles of alcohol. he was sitting on his bed but facing the other direction so she didnt know if he knew she was there. she sat down behind him on the bed and wrapped her arms around him. "zane.. im sorry."
